Thanks for this. Very helpful. I had a problem where an old port number was stuck in the Mac OS Eclipse keychain. Deleting the $HOME/. eclipse_keyring did the trick. Thanks much @Tom.

Please check whether your listeners is started properly or not.
Use ps -ef | grep lsnrctl
if it is not started, then follow below procedure to start the listener

Procedure
1. Go to $ORACLE_HOME/bin> ./lsnrctl
2. $ORACLE_HOME/bin> start
